Traditionally and to this day, the kitchen, located in the back centre of the house has been used as the main gathering place, due to many factors. First, the primary entrance to the house has been shifted from the underused front entrance, to the back, and being that the house is at this time un-insulated, and the kitchen woodstove is almost always burning during the colder months, it's the most natural place to settle down. Although the room is only approx 12 by 16, it still houses a hearty crowd, and there are always people turning up unexpected at almost all times.
